Yesterday we all went to Powell’s and spent way too much on new books for Goobs. I also got this book for two friends who are due in the coming weeks. I saw it weeks ago at Third Place Books and became a little obsessed with it although I suspect it may be more exciting for moms than for babies.
Today we tried to go to Bob’s Red Mill for breakfast only to discover they’re not open on Sundays. Then we ran out of gas on the way home. Oh yes we did. All of a sudden the passat started leaking gas and before we knew it we were stranded on the ramp from Barber Blvd to Beaverton Hillsdale Hywy. It wasn’t all bad though. A really nice woman in a yellow bug took the Whiz to three separate gas stations before they found diesel, saying she’d rather be late to church than on time because she’d left a family stranded.
Eventually we made our way to Marco’s. I had the roasted veggie scramble which was in all seriousness probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had.
Remarkably we managed to make it back home to Seattle safe and sound. The Passat is now waiting at the shop to get a little love and attention in the morning. I’m ridiculously exhausted and bid you all goodnight. Sleep well.
