Recycled napkin onesie

Many years ago I invested 75 cents in a set of four of four napkins and matching tablecloth at an estate sale in Portland.  They have a few holes and stains.

But the decorative parts are so charming.  You can barely see the stitches on the applique.

It’s definitely past time that I do something with them.  So yesterday I took some scissors to one and got out the Lite Steam A Seam.  This time I tried a new stitch- one that radiates out perpendicular to the edge.  Ta da!  Appliqued onesie.  Didn’t see that coming did you?  It’s for one of my best friends from college who is due with a boy in March.

I got the never worn onesie at a thrift store for 99 cents, leaving some room in the gifting budget.  Excellent because I’m in love with these.
